Monterrey concentrates 28% of industrial spaces under construction

At the end of the fourth quarter of last year, a total of 5.3 million square meters of industrial spaces were under construction in the country, of which Monterrey concentrated 28 percent of these, said the consulting company Solili.

He stressed that this percentage represents around 1.4 million square meters of projects that will continue in progress and will end this year.

He commented that only from October to December 2022, 1.2 million square meters began construction in the country, where Mexico City and Monterrey stand out with just over 200 thousand square meters each.

“2023 will bring important challenges, such as inflation and the possibility of a slowdown in the main economies of the world. Still, given this scenario, we believe that the Mexican real estate market will be able to overcome these circumstances and continue with the growth of industrial demand in the country," said the consultant.

Among the elements in favor of demand are nearshoring and the relocation of companies located in Asia, labor at competitive prices, the country's infrastructure, and a solid and institutional industrial market.
