Growth pace of construction supplies moderates
Real Estate Market | November 15, 2022 |

The upward cycle of the prices of construction raw materials remains in force, but their growth rate has decreased. In October they linked the fifth consecutive month moderating their rise, with a downward correction in their expansion dynamics.

We must remember that last May they established an annual growth rate of 16.7%, but since then their growth rate has moderated considerably.

According to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), construction inputs, measured by producer prices, grew at an annual rate of 11.15 percent.

During the eighth month, construction producer prices fell by 0.66% compared to September, which is added to the contraction of -0.83% in September compared to August. They have linked two consecutive months of monthly contraction.

After reaching its maximum level of annual increase in the fifth month of the current year, month by month they have shown a slowdown in the strength of growth that was maintained in October.

Although it is good that they have started a correction, increases above the average inflation at the national level continue to be observed, but their effect on the industry could be gradual and staggered.

Comparatively, in October 2021 they reported growth at an annual rate of 15.24% and currently they do so at 11.14%, which, although it is a respite, does not reverse the accumulated progress in nearly two years.
