Mergor invests 15 million dollars in Coahuila and inaugurates a new plant

With the aim of increasing its production capacity and serving the North American market, Mergon, a company of Irish origin, inaugurated its plant in Coahuila, the first in Mexico.

The complex, specialized in the manufacture of components for the automotive industry, represented an investment of 15 million dollars and will be located in Parque Industrial 360 in the municipality of Ramos Arizpe, will have a territorial extension of 5,300 square meters and will generate 100 jobs. directly.

Pat Beirne, CEO of the firm, shared that the line of business of the plant is the production of plastic components for the automotive industry, with BMW being one of its main clients.

“We want to announce that very soon we will have an expansion in our activities. Coahuila is a place that offers good treatment, coordination, qualified labor, security, and a good quality of life. With these factors it was easy to decide on this place to stay”, commented the manager.

The company has an important track record in the manufacturing industry, since since its foundation in 1981 it has expanded its quality by adding six plants in various parts of the world in countries such as China, the United States, Ireland, the Czech Republic and Mexico.

The manager of the brand said that worldwide it employs 1,200 people; however, their main operations are in the UK, as this has allowed them to expand their product range.

“Our perspectives are set so that in the medium term we can be an important commercial partner of different companies in the United States. That will benefit our business, which will surely continue to be in this country,” concluded Pat Beirne.

Miguel Ángel Riquelme Solís, governor of Coahuila, said they will continue to collaborate so that Ireland continues to turn to see Mexico and to see Coahuila.
