Office market in Mexico City closed with 19.4% vacancy in 2020

The office market in Mexico City had an oversupply of square meters at the beginning of the pandemic, and when companies sent part of their employees to work from home, office vacancies increased.

In 2020, the office vacancy rate closed at 19.4% in Mexico City, which means that there are 2.2 million square meters empty, according to the Solili firm.

A year earlier, the vacancy rate for the office market in Mexico City was 14%, increasing by more than five points due to COVID-19.

According to Solili, the North corridor registered the highest vacancy with 404 thousand square meters of available offices.
