In the industrial construction market, you are facing the opportunity to make energy use more efficient and lower carbon emissions. Developers and Fibras have not only the opportunity to expand their businesses and offer industrial buildings to foreign companies that arrive, but also to build in an innovative and sustainable way.
Robert Kester, director of Technology, Emissions and Process Solutions at Honeywell, says that Mexico has the opportunity to make industrial buildings with greater energy efficiency and, therefore, with less carbon emissions, mainly in the context of a reality in which the waves of coal forces all kinds of buildings to have cooling systems on, which impacts the environment.

This, coupled with the energy shortage that the sector is going through and that since 2020 has caused negotiations to be held between companies and the government, gives rise to the idea of autonomous ships and with alternatives to start up their operations.
“You go to other countries that have been kind of the manufacturing hub of the world and I think in the rush to ramp up their production there wasn't really a consideration of doing it with sensitivity to the environment. So it is an opportunity to think about that”, adds the manager.
In addition, technology developer companies have increasingly focused on developing more accessible solutions with easy implementations to accelerate this transition to green operations.

Although companies in Mexico already do it, mainly of foreign origin, it is still not a normality because, according to Robert Kester of Honeywell, the curve of approach to tools is still very large.
The first step to overcome it is to accelerate awareness of its existence, then demonstrate that its implementation can be adapted to almost all industries and finally, that the saving of resources and the benefit to the environment is greater than the initial investment that must be made to adopt the systems.
