Melonn trusts the Mexican market and will expand operations in 2022

The Colombian firm Melonn, which began operations in Mexico City during the third quarter of last year, plans to extend its services to other cities in the country for this first quarter of 2022.

The expansion plans to support small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) in their logistics activities related to electronic sales (e-commerce).

This company was attracted by the growth in digital consumption that the country has experienced in recent years, one of the largest that has been observed in the Latin American region and largely driven by the effects of the pandemic, as he pointed out to T21 Daniela Uribe, general manager of Melonn in Mexico.

Melonn observed 3 factors that make this market very attractive: an increase in the number of digital buyers, an increase in the frequency of purchase and the growth of new ventures (SMEs).

Uribe assured that its technology (software) allows companies to offer a more robust delivery experience to their customers (end consumers), with the use of tracking tools, and that it encourages greater loyalty.

“(In addition) we make payments on delivery which helps to generate a lot of trust. It is a factor that greatly increases sales, in addition to being a fast and reliable service ”, said Andrés Archila, Melonn's director of operations.

This company refers to itself as a logistics orchestrator that coordinates the deliveries of products, through the support of last-mile carriers (Estafeta, Parcelxpress, Redpack, among others), but also with the use of its physical infrastructure, such as warehouses installed very close to consumption center

In addition to Mexico City, Melonn plans to open operations in Guadalajara and Monterrey and install its own logistics warehouses, where they will offer their customers same-day or next-day deliveries, in line with the growing demands of digital consumers.

The clients that have started operations with this Colombian company so far are related to the beauty, cosmetics, fashion, pet products, food supplements, household cleaning sectors, among others; It has even become an ally for South American companies looking to enter the Mexican market.

The growth expected for this year by Melonn will be related to the behavior of digital purchases that are mainly registered in the different commercial campaigns (Hot Sale, El Buen Fin, for example), as well as other events on the calendar (Mother's Day , father, etc.).
