The CDMX government granted 3,253 loans for housing through the Housing Improvement Program, allocating a total of 431 million pesos.

The president of the capital, Claudia Sheinbaum, led the ceremony that took place at the Monument to the Revolution.

During the event, he stressed that the credit granted is at a zero rate, without any interest rate and with facilities.

This is the main difference compared to private institutions, which usually offer 13 or 15% interest for a loan.

"The objective was to give the population the right to a decent and safe home in the capital of the country," he stressed to those present.

The president declared that 7,465 homes have been supported in the capital over three years, either in adaptation or new.

It is important to note that in the Home Improvement Program, the beneficiaries decide on the construction and repairs of the property.

The money is delivered directly to the beneficiaries, without an intermediary and includes technical advice from the Housing Institute (INVI).
