Kuka Home expands its plant in Salinas Victoria and invests 150 million dollars

The plant of Chinese origin Kuka Home, made an investment of 150 million dollars, in an expansion of its plant located in the municipality of Salinas Victoria, with which it will generate 3,500 jobs, reported the State Ministry of Economy.

For this year there are 18 confirmed investment projects, of which five come from China, commented the Secretary of State Economy, Iván Rivas Rodríguez, during the laying of the first stone in the new Kuka Home plant.

There are currently 374 projects under negotiation in the portfolio, of which 69 are of Chinese origin, and there is a memorandum of understanding with the Department of Commerce of the city of Hangzhou, for economic development, trade exchanges and industrial cooperation, said the secretary of state economy.

Kuka Home is dedicated to the manufacture of furniture such as sofas, beds, chairs and mattresses.

China invested 38 million dollars in Nuevo León in 2021, this figure decreased 30.7% compared to the same period of the previous year, according to data from the federal Ministry of Economy.

The state received 4,026 million dollars last year, and expects to close the first quarter of this year with a Foreign Direct Investment of 1,300 to 1,500 million dollars.

The strategic location, the economic openness, the excellent connectivity, the educational level of its human capital, but above all the warmth and productivity of the people of Nuevo Leon, are the greatest attractions for foreign investors. The expansion of the Kuka Home plant is an example of this, he said.

He highlighted that with only 4.6% of the country's population, Nuevo León contributes 8% of the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

In Nuevo León there are 4,200 foreign companies that chose the state to carry out their investment projects, which reflects that investment continues to flow, said the state official.
