With an investment of some 200 million dollars, the Kohler company started the construction of a new production center in the entity, on an area of 25 hectares, where they seek to generate 1,600 jobs in the next ten years and it is expected to start operating in July 2023.

During the laying of the first stone of the factory in the municipality of Juárez, Iván Rivas Rodríguez, Secretary of Economy of Nuevo León, pointed out that this is a sign of the confidence that global companies have in establishing themselves in the entity.

The complex is the fourth operations center that operates in the entity, the sixth in Mexico and the first in Latin America to manufacture taps.

“Foreign companies carry out an intense research task before establishing themselves, and if they decide to stay in Nuevo León, it is because there are optimal conditions for doing business here,” said the state Secretary of the Economy.

For his part, Norbert Schmidt, Vice President of Bathroom and Kitchen Operations, mentioned that from this production center they meet the growing demand of the retail and construction markets.

Among the features that the complex will incorporate are the use of production technology, such as robots, and it will be a smart factory. In addition, it will have key sustainability measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, water use and solid waste. At the same time, the firm is evaluating various alternative energy strategies.

Rivas Rodríguez, commented that by the end of the year they trust that the entity will register more than 86 thousand direct jobs and foreign direct investment will exceed 4 billion dollars, and, in the six-year period, total around 18 billion dollars.
