Kerry announces the opening of its new plant in Guanajuato

Kerry recently confirmed the opening of a new production plant for state-of-the-art flavors, which is located in Irapuato, Guanajuato.

The global company in the agro-industrial sector announced that this factory will mainly serve the market of Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and the Andean region; and with it, they will significantly increase their capacity for these areas and provide more support to customers with the delivery of local and sustainable taste solutions.

In addition, this new Kerry site expands the offering in various food and beverage categories, including soft drinks and alcoholic beverages, snacks, meat, dairy and bakery.

This plant will also play an important role in enabling the company's ambition to bring sustainable nutrition solutions to more than 2 billion people by 2030 around the world.

Aligned with the company's commitments under its Beyond the Horizon strategy, the facility incorporates technology processes that will support the company's environmental goals. These capabilities, combined with expertise in sustainable innovation, marketing insights, research, development and applications, and sensory science, will allow Kerry to co-create with customers, products that will be consumed throughout the region.

Edson Cortes, flavor leader for Kerry Latin America, added that Mexico has 35% of the flavor in the Latin American region and presents solid opportunities for growth and innovation with sustainability. And as the core of its Taste product portfolio, the site will provide customized solutions for customers in the regions.

Kerry offers sustainable nutrition solutions for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries. Every day, more than 1 billion people around the world enjoy food and beverages that contain some flavor and nutrition solution from the company, which has offices in 31 countries, 149 manufacturing plants and employs 26,000 people across the world, including more than 1,000 food scientists.

According to Solili, in the month of May 2021, in Guanajuato two tailor-made projects with a total of 12 square meters were completed, corresponding to manufacturing companies.
