John Deere ratifies investment of 55 million dollars in Nuevo León

John Deere will invest a total of 55 million dollars in Nuevo León, as confirmed by the governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García, in the company of the Secretary of Economy, Iván Rivas, and company executives.

These new investments allow Nuevo León to continue being a national leader in all economic indicators, in addition to reflecting the strength and talent of the community. 'Foreign investment in Nuevo León represents 20 percent of what the country receives, one out of every five dollars reaches the entity and in five years it will be one out of every four,' the Governor explained.

Starting in 2023, John Deere will build three different models of skid steers each year, known as Skid Steers, whose primary market is its home country of the United States. In addition, it will produce nine models of mower conditioners. With this expansion, it will offer 400 new jobs.

It should be noted that the first investment that John Deere made outside the United States was in Nuevo León, in 1955, when it began operations in the country. In his speech, Gerardo Mendoza, director of the John Deere Monterrey Site, highlighted the importance of these new investments.

'More than 70 years after our arrival in Nuevo León and Mexico, we are proud to make this investment announcement, because we want to continue being a pole of attraction for young talent and for them to be part of our team made up of more than 3,000 people, only in Monterrey', he stated.

For his part, the Secretary of Economy, Iván Rivas, pointed out that in Nuevo León the John Deere company will find the human capital and infrastructure to continue growing.

'Nuevo León has a notable industrial tradition. John Deere will find here the human capital and the infrastructure to continue growing. With more than 15,000 engineers and scientists who graduate from the entity each year, this and other companies that are arriving and expanding are a job option for them,' he declared.
