Jalisco between January and September 2022 already exceeds the accumulated FDI of 2021

At the end of the third quarter of this year, Jalisco accumulated 2,396.1 million dollars of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), and was positioned as the third entity with the highest FDI acquisition in the country.

The accumulated figure from January to September 2022, exceeded the total foreign capital raised during all of 2021, when Jalisco received 2,125.3 million dollars.

This result is the result of collaborative work between the private initiative, academia and of course the State Government”, commented the head of the Secretariat for Economic Development (SEDECO), Roberto Arechederra.

By country of origin, the main investors were the United States with an amount of 1,063.5 million dollars, followed by the United Kingdom with 455 million and Canada with 332.7 million dollars.

Meanwhile, the sectors in which the largest foreign capital was injected during the third quarter of 2022 were air transport with 329.2 million dollars; beverage industry with 303.7 million; wholesale trade of beverages with 279.8 million dollars, financial institutions and manufacture of communication equipment and electronic accessories with 221 and 157 million dollars, respectively.
