Solili | June 11, 2021 |

The Ministry of Economy and Labor of Nuevo León indicated at the beginning of March 2021, that the entity will receive during the first semester of the year the number of 24 projects with an estimated investment of 766.2 million dollars, which will contribute around 17,400 new jobs.

Within the sectors that receive these investments, the automotive sector, software, furniture, aerospace, electrical appliances, energy, services, logistics and food stand out. Of the total of the 24 projects that enter, 11 correspond to the automotive sector, in which 6 are new investments and another 6 correspond to expansions of companies already in operation.

For this reason, the automotive industry will be the main driver of the industrial economy in Monterrey during 2021, based on the long-term investment that is made in the supply chain, through the agreements that foreign firms carry out with local companies of strong presence in the Mexican territory and the ability to establish alliances between automotive fleets in the domestic market.

This German firm will contribute its experience in the development of an exclusive 5G-ready micro-factory for e.GO, perfectly suited to supply the Mexican customer and the supply of parts at its facilities in the United States, as announced by its spokespersons.

To house future companies that decide to invest, Monterrey currently has 12.8 million square meters of class A and B industrial buildings, with a vacancy of around 5.6%, while just over 456 thousand square meters are in advanced stages of construction, where the vast majority will enter existing inventory in the remainder of the year.
