The Taiwanese firm Pegatron laid the first stone for the construction of a second plant in Ciudad Juárez.

The municipal president of Cd. Juárez, Cruz Pérez Cuéllar, announced an industrial growth, especially for the Anapra area.

Although it will not be seen immediately, it is planned to invest in infrastructure that will impact the economy, mainly in the central, northern and northwestern areas.

"There are some projects, not so much in the Central Zone, but close to the coal mine," said the president.

Regarding the new Pegatron plant, the mayor confirmed that it will have the capacity to expand its operations to up to three thousand employees. However, he considered that, if they had the government's facilities, they could offer up to 50 thousand vacancies.

“We are very happy and we are very pleased that they are growing very fast in Juárez. Six months ago they had 200 employees, now they will generate 3,000 more jobs,” said the mayor.
