Infonavit seeks to place 45 thousand credits with resources seized from crime
Centro Urbano/ Solili | March 05, 2021 |

The Mexican government wants more families to be able to buy a home through the Infonavit loan. For this, the authorities have defined a strategy: to allocate the resources seized from criminals to promote the placement of financing for the benefit of workers who earn the least.

According to the established plan, the goal is to promote the placement of around 45 thousand financings. The vision would be to carry out these actions in the states with the greatest housing lag; and with seized resources in possession of the Institute to Return the Stolen to the People (Indep).

Rosa Ícela Rodríguez Velázquez, head of the Secretary of Public Safety and Protection, reported that the proposal will be presented to the Infonavit Board of Directors.

The purpose, he added, is for this body of the Institute to approve the proposal and begin implementation on April 16, along with the entry into operation of the changes brought about by the reform.
