Hikvision develops new business line of LEED screens in Mexico

Hikvision, a provider of video solutions with experience in security, began to develop a new line of business in Mexico with the sale of outdoor LED technology screens and large meeting centers, such as terminals, shopping centers, stadiums or restaurants.

The company of Chinese origin projects a Mexican outdoor LED screen business with a market value of more than US$40 million and growing at double digits per year.

“If we measure this new niche in money, we estimate a market in Mexico for LED screens for outdoor activities of US$40 million per year,” said Sergio Souza, director of commercial exhibition for Hikvision Mexico.

The executive exemplifies that new infrastructures such as AIFA, the upcoming Tulum airport or the Mayan Train represent business opportunities for his company, which will be a new participant for Huawei, LG and Samsung as bidders in federal government tenders.

The company will start with scrolling displays for venues such as restaurants, but is also readying video solutions with sizes of 110 inches, 300 inches and up to 500 inches.

Hikvision is in the stage of developing sales channels and obtaining certifications to market its LED screens in Mexico. Hikvision has just obtained a wholesale channel from Cisco Systems.
