Guanajuato increased industrial activity by 2% per year, according to INEGI

Industrial activity in Guanajuato has begun to show an increase, according to the Monthly Indicator of Industrial Activity by Federal Entity (IMAIEF) of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).

The state registered an annual variation of 2% in June of this year, with an increase of 5.1% compared to the same month of 2021. At the national level, the states that showed the most pronounced monthly increases in their industrial activity were: Tlaxcala: 5.1 %, Tabasco: 4.7% and Chiapas: 3.7%. Other states in the region that also registered increases were: Jalisco with 9.8%, Querétaro with 6.6% and San Luis Potosí with 1.7%.

Regarding the figures by type of activity, in Guanajuato manufacturing stands out, with a 5.7% monthly variation compared to May of this year, placing it in the twelfth position at the national level with the most increase, below entities such as Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Jalisco, Chihuahua, among others.

Regarding the construction sector, an increase is also indicated, with a monthly percentage variation of 3.9% during June of this year and with a contribution of 0.16% to the national industry.

Only in the field of generation, transmission and distribution of electricity, supply of water and gas through pipelines to the final consumer, Guanajuato showed a monthly decline of -2.2% compared to the previous month.
