Guadalajara reported a significant increase in demand in 2021

The industrial, residential and corporate sectors positioned themselves in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area as a benchmark for national growth. However, it is industrial demand that showed the greatest momentum during 2021.

According to a study by Solili, Guadalajara is the city with the greatest comprehensive development located in the west of the country. If we compare the industrial demand of 2021 with that registered during the years 2020 and 2019 in the city, the increase is 22% and 63 percent.

The largest amounts of transactions until November 2021 of the entity correspond to the logistics sector.

Firms such as Amazon, The Home Depot, Walmart and Betterware have acquired important industrial positions.

In the case of the latter company, it was located on 60 thousand square meters on the Zapopan Norte corridor.

For its part, the constructions continue their advance towards 2022 with 240 thousand square meters of warehouses, 94% concentrated on the Salto. 

This corridor registered the highest activity in the entire entity during the past year.

Solili believes that a fundamental pillar that has fostered the development of Guadalajara is investment in infrastructure.

An example of this is the improvement of its air facilities during 2021, which were conceptualized in the Guadalajara 2020-2026 Plan.

According to what was indicated during the REBS Guadalajara 2021, the entity's airport fell short in the face of successive increases in demand.

With the construction of the second terminal, almost 210 thousand square meters will be completed. This expansion, together with the second new runway, seeks to become a model of sustainability coupled with achieving NetZero certification.

For its part, the local manufacturing and logistics industry evaluates these investments in infrastructure for air transport very positively.

In addition, they highlight that the airport property is joined by significant investments in land routes.
