The Institute of the National Housing Fund for Workers (Infonavit) signed a collaboration agreement with the Ministry of Economy to provide investors with information on the housing market in the country's municipalities, through the Data México platforms. and the Infonavit Information System.

Carlos Martínez Velázquez, General Director of Infonavit, said in a conference that the agreement will strengthen the transparency of the institute with important data such as the placement of mortgage loans, salary ranges of workers, occupation data and employer contributions of more than one million companies to the Institute.

"With this agreement, what we want is that the knowledge that we have among the institutions and that we also have the will to share this data, we can also improve investments," he said.

He added that the platform will allow better decisions to be made for the development of new homes close to work sources and with adequate conditions so that workers do not default on their loans, have to make large transfers, even vacate their homes.

"We have examples like in some automotive plants where they do not have workers nearby and the companies themselves invest in private transportation for their workers and if they arrive late they lose hundreds of thousands of dollars for every minute that they stop the operation of a plant, because there is no logic of urban development around large investments ”, he pointed out.

The Secretary of Economy, Tatiana Clouthier, added that in addition to providing large investors with updated information for the arrival of new projects, the agreement will facilitate the acquisition of new homes and improve the competitiveness of the housing industry in general.
