General Motors consolidates itself as the main automotive producer in 2023

General Motors (GM) of Mexico concluded 2023 consolidating itself as a benchmark in the automotive industry, reaching first place in key aspects such as production, exports and purchases from suppliers, among others, reinforcing its impact within the sector.

The company consolidated itself, once again, as the industry's leading producer, with 722,631 units manufactured in its manufacturing complexes in Ramos Arizpe, (Coahuila), Silao (Guanajuato) and San Luis Potosí (SLP). It should be noted that Complejo Ramos Arizpe continued with the manufacturing of the Electric Drive Units (EDU), and began the production of the electric SUV, Chevrolet Blazer EV.

Likewise, GM once again positioned itself as the main exporter of units, with 721,886 units. Additionally, it reaffirmed its place as the main buyer from suppliers of materials and services, with an amount of 28 billion dollars (million dollars), acquired from more than 620 suppliers established in Mexico.

At the end of 2023, GM increased sales within the domestic market by 11.5%, displacing 184,005 units. And it positioned itself as a leader in product launches, presenting 15 new vehicles from various segments in its four brands Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac.
