Fibra Prologis adds three new buildings to its industrial portfolio

Fibra Prologis, a real estate and logistics investment trust, acquired three industrial properties for a total price of 74.9 million dollars, according to a press release.

The acquired buildings comprise 651,258 square feet of industrial space and are located in: Ciudad Juárez, Monterrey and Tijuana.

“We continue to proactively execute our strategy of building a stronger presence in the best industrial frontier markets that can meet growing demand,” said Luis Gutiérrez, CEO of Prologis Mexico.

As of March 31, 2023, Fibra Prologis had 225 logistics and manufacturing facilities in six locations in the Mexican Republic and with these new acquisitions it remains on track to achieve its strategy.

A few months ago, Luis Gutierrez told various media outlets that the demand for industrial spaces has doubled since the pandemic, driven mainly by nearshoring.

In this sense, the trust plans to invest 400 million dollars to expand its portfolio of parks and warehouses, which were obtained in a secondary public offer made in May for the purchase of real estate portfolios on the border.

Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas are the states close to the area mentioned by the executive director, and therefore, possible destinations for capital injection.
