Fibra Monterrey plans to certify 10 properties by 2025

Real estate fibers are more committed to having buildings that are sustainable and have certifications. This is stated by the Mexican Association of Real Estate Fibers in its annual report where it indicates that among its members there are six million square meters under recognized certifications such as LEED and EDGE.

Fibra Monterrey is one of them. In its 2023-2025 strategic sustainability plan, it seeks to certify 13 buildings with either LEED or EDGE by 2025.

In 2022, it achieved an advance of 11% compared to the previous year, in the rating of S&P's Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), which is an annual evaluation of companies' sustainability practices.

In its report it mentions the actions it has carried out in 2022 such as investments destined for four sectors: energy, emissions, air and waste.

In energy, more than 10 million pesos were invested to improve the efficiency of equipment, install LED lighting installations and install equipment to improve energy management.

In emissions, an investment of more than nine million pesos was made in solar panels, which according to its report, 3,219 square meters of solar panels were installed with a total generation capacity of 985 MWh.

For air and waste, an investment of seven million and 200,000 pesos respectively was allocated and was used to improve air quality inside the fiber properties and manage recoverable waste.

In terms of Governance, Fibra Mty obtained an annual increase of 18% in the Corporate Governance criterion rating in the S&P CSA 2022 evaluation, particularly due to the diversity and structure of the Technical Committee.

In social and corporate citizenship matters, the percentage of women in the workforce increased by 37.5%.

El Fibra seeks to reduce the carbon footprint from the consumption of electrical energy by central equipment and common areas of office buildings by at least 30% by 2030.

As well as continue with the installation of water savers in all common areas of corporate office buildings starting in 2021.
