Faurecia builds two plants in Nuevo León for 147 million dollars

Faurecia, a French tier 1 company of the FORVIA Group, arrives in Nuevo León with two new plants, which will focus on the manufacture of seats and interiors for automobiles and will generate 1,500 direct jobs.

The entity has a privileged strategic location due to its proximity to the United States, in addition to being immersed in a very attractive supplier and talent ecosystem, declared Francisco Maciel, Country Lead and CFO of Mexico, and director of GBS of North America for Faurecia.

The new sites will be located in the Nexxus Park, in Apodaca, Nuevo León, 10 minutes from the Monterrey International Airport, with a total construction area of 28,693 m2, including areas shared between both divisions such as main access, parking, social area and training area.

With an investment of 147 million dollars, the plants will generate 1,500 direct jobs and at least 300 indirect jobs; In addition, they will open the doors for current employees to apply for strategic positions, where they will be able to acquire and develop skills that allow them to have great professional and personal growth.

These will be the first Faurecia plants to be inaugurated since it is part of the FORVIA group, where they seek to be a benchmark, showing the competitiveness and capacity of the investment group, said Robert Grienenberger, vice president of the Seats division in Mexico.

In addition, in line with Faurecia's conviction of creating a positive impact on society and its commitment to sustainable mobility, these plants will have a design and technologies focused on the use of renewable energies, with the aim of moving towards neutrality of CO2, thus seeking LEED certification in a Silver grade.

Bioclimatic design adapted to the current and future local climate, for example, involves windows to take advantage of sunlight and reduce electricity consumption; In addition, landscaping with native vegetation has been incorporated in order to save water and preserve the local fauna. The materials are of biological origin with low CO2 content and help the company take care of the impact it has on the community.

These new sites represent an advance that the industry is demanding in the face of mega trends, so we are sure that the regional talent will help with the generation of solutions so that the industry is at the forefront”, concluded Stephane Letrudet, vice president of the division Interiors in Mexico.

In February 2022, Faurecia and HELLA unveiled FORVIA, the name of the newly combined Group, following the successful completion of Faurecia's acquisition of a majority stake in HELLA on January 31, 2022.
