El Economista | March 16, 2023 |

Danfoss announced the construction of a new 20 thousand square meter plant in Apodaca, where it will install two production lines for medium and large scroll compressors and sensors for the refrigeration and air conditioning system and leak detection, for residential and commercial use.

In this new plant, different products will be manufactured to those produced in the current facility. "There are 100,000 compressors that are integrated into the family of compressors and there are 1.6 million sensors, it is a portfolio of products that we do not have now here in Mexico, and more than one million A2L leak detection sensors," said Xavier Casas, director General of Danfoss Mexico.

They currently have a 30,000-square-meter building, where they have a workforce of 1,500 jobs. The factory is expected to be ready by the end of 2024, which will increase job openings by 25%.

The objective of the company of Danish origin is to grow 50% by 2025, due to nearshoring, since the future of the municipality of Apodaca is very interesting, said Peter Young, director of the Sales division of Climate Solution.

The current Danfoss plant in Apodaca is already on the world map, “and I could assure you that it is the most productive and competitive plant in the entire group. We know that it is focused on generating more efficient technologies in sensors and compressors and contributing to a better future”, added Iván Rivas Rodríguez, State Secretary of Economy.

This expansion, he said, adds to the cascade of new projects that continue to arrive in Nuevo León, and that allows us to affirm that the state is experiencing an extraordinary moment, this can be seen by all the investment that is arriving, exports and job creation.
