Builders' expectation remains positive: Inegi

The National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) published the Monthly Survey of Business Opinion (EMOE), previously called “Business Expectations”, which corresponds to a global indicator of the opinion of businessmen in the sectors of Construction, Manufacturing, Commerce and Private Non-Financial Services.

The IATs are prepared with the results of the Monthly Business Opinion Survey (EMOE), and allow knowing, almost immediately after the end of the reference month, the expectations and perception of business managers regarding the behavior of relevant variables in their industries , details the INEGI.

For the Construction sector, business expectations were slightly higher in their monthly comparison in March against February 2021.

In general, the Aggregate Trend Indicator for the Construction Sector increased one percentage point, reaching 53.1 percent. With this, it reaches five consecutive months with a figure above the threshold of 50 points, explained the INEGI.

On the other hand, in March 2021 the Construction Business Confidence Indicator registered an increase of 0.8 pts to 45.3 pts; this level is 0.4 pts above that of March 2020.

Likewise, the Global Confidence Business Opinion Indicator, which aggregates the opinions of manufacturing, construction, commerce and services, registered a level of 45.4 pts, 0.9 pts above that of March 2020.
