The expansion of the Borgwarner-Saltillo company was officially announced by Governor Miguel Ángel Riquelme Solís. The company will invest 47 million dollars and create 450 new jobs to add to the 3,000 they already have in their three plants located in the state of Coahuila, where they produce starter coils, thermostats, and coolers. The expansion will take place in a 17,800 square meter property.

Together with the Mayor of Saltillo, José María Fraustro Siller; the State Secretary of Economy, Claudio Bres Garza, and executives of the auto parts manufacturing company, headed by Mike Coetzee, vice president and General Manager, the state President announced the expansion.

Miguel Riquelme stressed that the confidence of investors will allow Coahuila to become the Capital of Electro-mobility in the short term with the upcoming start of the manufacture of electric vehicles.

In the same way, he recognized the quality of the products that the company manufactures, such as starter coils, gas recirculation coolers and thermostats for gasoline engines, helping to have a cleaner and more sustainable world.

"Now Coahuila tends to become the Capital of Electro-mobility," he said, because its production will begin this year at General Motors, and in 2024 with the new Stellantis Ram truck and the Freightliner truck tractor. On the other hand, Miguel Riquelme praised Borgwarner because its extension will also reach local suppliers, and with this it successfully maintains its production.

The Secretary of Economy, Claudio Bres Garza, highlighted that Borgwarner decided to expand its plant in Saltillo despite the fact that it studied other options in the Country, due to the positive indicators that the entity has in this area.
