Holcim Mexico inaugurates its new industrial plant in Tijuana

Holcim México inaugurated its new concrete plant “El Refugio”, in the border city of Tijuana, Baja California.

It is a work that took approximately three and a half months of intensive work to complete.

It has two silos with a capacity of 80 and 60 tons that will be expanded to two loading lines to maximize its operation.

The plant is located in a strategic location geographically, due to the detonation of infrastructure projects in the area.

In addition to supporting the supply of concrete, it will produce 50 cubic meters of concrete per hour, which forecasts strong growth in the coming years.

El Refugio is the third plant that Holcim Mexico has installed in Tijuana and, according to the firm, it will be the most modern and efficient in the country.

The project was conceived to support the development of industrial, housing and commercial projects in the region.

In addition, it represents an opportunity to promote the social growth of Tijuana, with sustainability, care for the environment, people, and the growth of the markets for vertical buildings and industrial work as the core of its strategy.

This, because the cement firm considers Tijuana as a city with great potential.

It should be noted that during its construction, more than 100 jobs were generated for the inhabitants of Tijuana and Tecate. Now in operation, it is expected to generate approximately 25 more direct jobs

El Refugio in Tijuana will produce all the solutions and products available for industrial projects (Estructo, Floortech BC, Pavex) and housing (Clásico, fluidium) among others.
