In June 2022, the Industrial Activity in Mexico increases 3.8%

The National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) indicated that, at an annual rate and with seasonally adjusted figures, in June 2022, industrial activity in Mexico registered a variation of 3.8 percent.

According to the data released in the Monthly Indicator of Industrial Activity (IMAI), in the sixth month of the year the variation was barely 0.1% compared to a month before.

In the sixth month of the year, mining showed an advance of 2.2% at the annual rate; the generation, transmission and distribution of electric power, supply of water and gas through pipelines to the final consumer advanced 3.8%; manufacturing industries grew 5.2%; and construction 2.2 percent.

On the other hand, at a monthly rate, the generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy, supply of water and gas through pipelines to the final consumer fell 1%; mining and construction advanced 2.1% and 0.3%, respectively; while the manufacturing industries had no variation.

In the first semester of 2022, industrial activity had a variation of 3.2% compared to the same period of the previous year, an advance mainly driven by manufacturing industries, which registered an increase of 4.9% compared to the previous semester.

Likewise, in the period from January to June, the generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy, supply of water and gas through pipelines to the final consumer had an advance of 3%, mining advanced 1.2% and construction rose 0.5 percent .
