Italian companies are preparing three investment projects for 3,285 million pesos in the state, which will imply the generation of approximately 1,500 jobs in the medium term, confirmed the governor of Querétaro, Mauricio Kuri Gonzáles, during his tour of Europe.

The company Metlac, which manufactures products for metal coatings and packaging, has planned its expansion for 2,100 million, which will be allocated to the expansion of its plant in the state and to the installation of the Resinueva Research and Development Center, on five hectares. They estimate to start with 200 jobs and move up to 900 positions, informed the CEO of Metlac, Bruno Franceschini.

The director also highlighted the competitive advantages they observed in the state in terms of certainty and talent training.

Metlac began operations outside of Italy in 2018, at the Puerta Querétaro Industrial Park plant, in the municipality of El Marqués; from this point it supplies the national and international market.

The next investment project that was finalized for the state of Queretaro is the expansion of Eurotranciatura, a firm dedicated to laminations for electrical rotating machines, for 1,185 million pesos and the generation of around 500 jobs.

The expansion of the subsidiary includes the manufacture of forged and stamped metal products, over an area of 12,000 square meters, explained the CEO of Eurogroup Automotive, Leonard Franchini, who also highlighted the company's presence in the state, together with the Industry 4.0 development strategies, of which they have been pioneers since 2018.

Eurotranciatura Mexico is part of the Italian industrial corporation Eurogroup, which established its first plant in America in the Parque Industrial Querétaro, to produce laminations for electrical rotating machines.

From 1999 to the first quarter of 2022, Querétaro received 132.9 million dollars of Italian investment, which represents only 0.7% of the total Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) that the entity received in that period and amounts to 19,627.3 million, according to data of the Ministry of Economy.

In 2021, Italian investment totaled 18.8 million dollars and in the first quarter of this year it was 3 million.
