The Swedish-American company Autoliv, the world's largest provider of automotive safety for premium vehicles, formally announced its arrival in Aguascalientes with an investment of 35 million dollars and the creation of 3,000 new jobs.

With an area of more than 30 thousand square meters, the company's plant will be located in the Finsa Industrial Park, south of the city, and will focus on the manufacture of steering wheels for automobiles. Around 10% of the 3 thousand jobs created will correspond to the administrative area and 90% to the operational area of the factory.

At a virtual press conference offered in conjunction with the State Government, Roberto Pelayo, Autoliv Operations leader, mentioned that the company is enthusiastic about the project in Aguascalientes, stating that the plant will have a cutting-edge architectural design and will be equipped with the latest technology. generation for production processes.

"The manufacturing processes that we are going to integrate into the plant include the entire value chain of the construction of the flywheel: casting, plastic injection molding, polyurethane molding, leather and lining and assembly of components", explained the director of the car company.

Roberto Pelayo revealed that the construction of the complex will begin this June and is expected to finish no later than the end of the year, so that the plant will start operations in 2022.

It should be noted that to the investment announced by Autoliv, the projects established by the automotive companies Xinquan and Fanuq are added, exceeding the 80 million dollars of investment in Aguascalientes among the three companies.
