Currently, the free trade agreement between Mexico, the United States and Canada (TMEC), allows an important economic benefit in our country, contributing 18.3% of the manufacturing GDP, 3.8% of the National GDP.
This is reflected in more than a million direct jobs, speaking only of the manufacturing sector, plus the millions generated in branches such as distributor agencies, repair shops, among others.
This important sector has an impact on 252 economic branches, being the 4th producer of auto parts in the world, the 7th in the manufacture of light vehicles, which are exported to more than 100 countries, as well as being the main exporter to world level of trucks.

Our country is the main supplier of auto parts for the United States, since 36% of the total imports of that country come from Mexico, that is, almost 80 billion dollars at the end of this 2022.
For this reason, the Mexican auto parts industry is the backbone for the manufacture of vehicles in Mexico and throughout North America, with a production for this year of more than 102 billion dollars.
In the last 23 years, the Free Trade Agreement between Mexico, the United States and Canada has attracted a direct foreign investment of $83,883 million dollars for our country and with it, the creation of more and better jobs for Mexican families.

In recent years, with the renegotiation of the so-called NAFTA, now T-MEC, the so-called nearshoring has been triggered, which further encourages the arrival of new investments, mostly from Asia.
This is why it is important, not only to maintain the free trade agreement between Mexico, the United States and Canada, the so-called T-MEC, but also to seek its best practices so that the automotive sector continues to be the second most important pillar for the economy of our country, with a surplus of more than 88 billion dollars, only speaking of the automotive manufacturing sector; larger than foreign exchange earnings, oil or the tourism sector, combined.
