EdoMex attracts 440 million pesos in new investment projects

The State of Mexico has managed to attract the attention of national and international companies, to the point of materializing important investment projects equivalent to more than 447 million pesos in recent years.

Of this amount, 40% corresponds only to the last year, it has also received nearly 11 billion dollars of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), which positions it as the third place nationally in terms of attracting capital, as well as Alfredo del Mazo Maza, governor of the state, indicated this, adding that the entity is prepared to compete with the global economic environment and consolidate itself as the largest logistics center in the country.

It should be noted that as a result of the construction of the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), companies from different branches decided to settle or expand their plants in EdoMéx in order to take advantage of its proximity to AIFA, which together with the airports of the City of Mexico and Toluca (AIT), make up one of the largest airport systems in Latin America.

Among the most recent investment announcements, those of Vitro and Vidrio Forms stand out, which made an investment of almost 1,700 million pesos, Hitachi Astemo and ZF Chassis, for 2,220 million, Cartró and Smurfit Kappa, for more than 6,500 millions of pesos.

Added to these are Becton Dickinson and Novartis, which invested 1.25 billion pesos, and Innova Schools, with a capital injection of 2.4 billion pesos, while Mondelez, Nissin Foods and Unilever invested more than 6 billion pesos, among others. .

The creation of 85 thousand new companies has been promoted and, to date, 13 out of every 100 economic units in the country are in the State of Mexico

Nine logistics developments have also been built, and 16 more are under development, bringing the state to 131 at the end of the administration. In turn, the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness (IMCO) indicated that the entity not only recovered the level of jobs lost due to the pandemic, but also became the one with the highest national growth, with 13%, "the highest contribution recorded by an entity," he stressed.
