Centro Urbano/ Solili | February 25, 2021 |

The Housing Commission of the Chamber of Deputies approved the reform of articles 55 and 58 of the Housing Law. This in order to develop and promote instruments that promote the access of the population in a situation of marginalization or vulnerability to public and private credits.

The reform indicates that people or groups in these conditions suffer from insecurity and risks in their development; In addition, they are at a disadvantage when faced with the recognition, enjoyment and exercise of their fundamental rights and freedoms.

For this reason, the State must avoid both the causes and their manifestations and their consequences; as well as providing what is necessary to guarantee their rights in equality and dignity, protect them and make them priority groups for the purposes of this law.

In this way, with the reform to article 55, the Federal Government must develop and promote instruments to promote access to public and private credits to all sectors of the population; preferably the one destined to the population in situations of poverty, marginalization or vulnerability.

Meanwhile, Article 58 will stipulate that development banking institutions linked to the housing sector must design and implement mechanisms that encourage the concurrence of various sources of financing to generate opportunities that facilitate the population in situations of poverty, marginalization and vulnerability, access to housing.
