Deputies analyze reform for Mexicans abroad to access Infonavit
Centro Urbano/ Solili | February 25, 2021 |

Deputy Carlos Iván Ayala Bobadilla proposed an amendment to article 41 of the Law of the National Workers' Housing Fund Institute (Infonavit); so that all Mexicans living abroad can access a loan to purchase a home in Mexico.

“For this purpose, it is necessary to reform article 41 of the Infonavit Law and incorporate the legal basis to allow Mexicans who are abroad to obtain a mortgage loan for a new or used home with the characteristics of their preference, making payments of their credits directly to Infonavit and without intermediaries ", he pointed out

The deputy described that the credits would be granted regardless of having had or not had any type of employment relationship with Infonavit; and under the sole condition of proving that they have financial capacity and a job abroad.
