With the aim of doubling the storage and distribution capacity of its products, Decathlon, the leading brand of French origin in sports retail, joins forces with DHL Supply Chain, the world's leading logistics company, in the opening of a new center of storage to guarantee the availability and reach of sporting goods throughout the American continent.

The main objective of the opening of this new warehouse is to improve the quality of delivery services and guarantee timely supply in each of the 13 stores located in Mexico, where more than 6 million products are currently distributed per year.

The warehouse located in Tepotzotlán, State of Mexico, has an area of almost 12,000 square meters, which will allow it to meet the needs of the increased demand that Decathlon estimates to have in the coming years, anticipating the distribution of more than 21 million products for the 2026.

The collaboration and support of the government of the State of Mexico was key to fulfilling the mission of being an ally in the practice of sports for Mexicans and highlighted the importance of promoting sports and physical activity as a fundamental tool for well-being and health in the town, said Miguel Ángel Sánchez Candón, CEO of Decathlon in Mexico.

Decathlon is constantly evolving and becoming more relevant in the sports market in our country, reporting sales of around 6 million items throughout the country this year through its physical stores, digital commerce and sales generated through Walmart.

Decathlon arrived in Mexico 5 years ago, managing to evolve from its first store in Querétaro, to 13 stores with a presence in locations such as Monterrey, Torreón, Guadalajara, Aguascalientes, Mérida, Valle de México and an upcoming opening in the State of Mexico, adding a team of more than 631 collaborators.

This new warehouse will allow the promotion of initiatives that significantly reduce the impact on the environment with various actions such as the reuse of pallets and the use of LED lights in all lighting systems, among others.
