DACHSER advances in consolidating its expansion on Mexican soil

The COVID-19 pandemic has not been an obstacle for the German Dachser to decide to expand its investments in Mexico, the main growth markets in the region.

The logistics service provider backed its confidence in Mexico with the recent opening of its new offices in Mexico City, located at Corporativo Antara 1.

Edgardo Hamon, Managing Director of DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics Mexico, indicated that they plan to increase their global operations, as well as serve their current and future clients, in an interview for T21.

This company specializing in global transportation services has opened other offices in the country, such as in Guadalajara, Monterrey, Puebla and Querétaro, and is still reviewing options for its expansion plans, the regional director said.

The sustained double-digit growth that this company has presented in recent years in Mexico has been driven by industries such as manufacturing, where the automotive sector stands out, as well as pharmaceuticals, retail and fashion.

However, the "perfect storm" that the economies of the countries are currently going through, derived from the health crisis due to COVID-19. Supply chains have shown multiple interruptions due to border closures or complete stoppages of port terminals, unprecedented increases in maritime freight rates, at a time when the high demand for articles or merchandise on a global scale has not ceased.

DACHSER has been an important ally for the industries and companies that it supports in their international movements, through new products, with its reliable, flexible and holistic service covering the entire value chain.

Having carried out rate negotiations with the carriers with which it operates prior to the pandemic, they allow it to have spaces on ships, either for full load (FCL) or consolidated (LCL).

Today DACHSER Mexico has expanded its warehouse offering through a partnership with the Puebla-based GWTC Group (storage) and the CAE-Meta Customs Agency.

Puebla serves as a duty-free area for the arrival of cargo -not storable- for customs clearance, granting two free days of storage and represents its second fiscal precinct, after the launch of its fiscal warehouse in Querétaro, which was expanded in 2020 due to the increase in demand.

All of this is complemented by the warehouses in Querétaro and Puebla that provide freight consolidation and customs clearance services.
