Construction begins its road to recovery after two years of ups and downs in production. In November of last year, the industry registered its highest level since March 2020, a month before the Covid-19 pandemic broke out and containment measures were put in place.

In the eleventh month of last year, the last one for which information is available, works worth 26,672 million pesos were built, which also represented the fourth month with growth in a row, according to the National Survey of Construction Companies (ENEC). ) of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi).

The increase corresponds to greater construction of works related to construction, water and irrigation, and the oil and petrochemical sectors, coming mainly from Nuevo León and Tabasco.

The case of this last entity is atypical, since historically it had maintained low production levels, but from the investments made for the construction of the Dos Bocas refinery and its integration with the port in Paraíso, the figures have increased.

In third place, the construction segment, driven mainly by companies, continues to be the predominant one, due in large part to the construction of industrial warehouses in the north of the country to supply the Asian market that seeks to establish logistics centers in Mexico.
