Cobifer Reynosa reports more than 11.6 thousand m2 of industrial absorption during 1Q 2023

The Binational Council for the Economic Development of Reynosa (Cobifer) reported that, during the first quarter of the year, the city of Reynosa absorbed 125,723 square feet of new industrial construction due to the expansion of the company Johnson Controls, with 65,000 square feet, and of 60,723, in Rey Maquilpark.

The positive numbers join other construction projects that remain in progress and that upon completion will add more than 381,000 new square feet.

The president of Cobifer, Luis Cantú, highlighted the interest that exists among companies to establish themselves in the binational region that makes up Reynosa.

"We have been approached with at least six companies that are planning to establish themselves in the area, the decision to invest has already been made, they are only reviewing the options and opportunities, this is a very positive aspect because they come from large cities like Guadalajara or Monterrey, but this region stands out, so we have good expectations for the following months”.

The constructions that are still under development in Reynosa are located in the El Puente Industrial Park, with 99,254 square feet, owned by the company Roca Desarrollos; Villa Florida Industrial Park, with 143,504 square feet, with Macquarie Fibra; and at Stiva Industrial Park, with 138,337 square feet from the Stiva group.

“We have a large number of competitive advantages and that requires us to be prepared to capitalize as much as possible,” added Cantú.

For her part, Ingrid Ulloa, Cobifer's director of operations, highlighted the more than 500,000 feet of new industrial construction that will be available this year, as well as the facilities provided for investors, through joint work between authorities and organizations. business.

The union continues working on the creation of an economic profile that serves as support to attract new investors, by highlighting the various areas of economic prosperity in Reynosa.

"This report reflects 125,723 square feet of construction at the end of the first quarter, there are other projects close to completion that will be reinforced with 381,095 new square feet," concluded Ulloa.
