Coahuila receives a new harness plant for the automotive sector

The Irish company Aptiv announced that it will open a new plant in the city of Frontera in Coahuila, estimating a projected investment of 14.7 million dollars to produce harnesses for the automotive industry, a phase in which it expects to generate 3,200 new jobs directly.

The manufacture of harnesses in the new factory also means the arrival of a new distribution division of the company in the country and in the state, called EDS.

For his part, Arturo Álvarez, president of Aptiv in Latin America, highlighted that at the global level they have become one of the most competitive, since they have 195,000 employees in total, and a presence in 46 countries with 125 manufacturing centers and 12 technical sites.

Meanwhile, he said that in Mexico they are the main producer of jobs in the manufacturing industry, registering more than 75 thousand jobs today.

“We have been in this country for more than 43 years, which has welcomed us in the best way and has given us all the opportunities to develop our operations. Here we have 29 production plants and two technical centers, this demonstrates the consolidation we have had," said the manager.

Regarding the competitive advantages that exist in the market, he said that the technical skills they need as a company and the industry in general are decisive for the injection of capital.

Likewise, he thanked the state managers for their support and promised to build a successful future in the Central Region, as has happened in Mexico and throughout the continent, attached to his institutional vision of creating safer, more ecological and more connected mobility. .

In his speech, Miguel Ángel Riquelme Solís, governor of Coahuila, stated that the company chose one of the best places to invest, since the entity offers a series of advantages that make it more competitive, such as qualified labor, labor peace , security and proximity to the United States, which will increase the number of exports.

He also highlighted the importance of the Automotive Cluster growing in the cities of Monclova and Frontera, since in recent months important projects have been completed at that point.
