Additionally, the Ministry of Economy reported that there is a record FDI of 5.5 billion dollars, which corresponds to transnational companies whose headquarters of the corporate group are located in Mexico and generate investment through their subsidiaries abroad.

At the same time, 36% of FDI arrivals went to the manufacturing sector.

The reported amounts only consider investments made and formally notified before the National Registry of Foreign Investments of the Ministry of Economy; hence their preliminary nature and the fact that they are updated in successive quarters.

The figure reached in 2022 was the third largest amount of FDI attraction by Mexico, exceeded in 2013 (48.400 million dollars) and 2015 (35.900 million).
