Chihuahua leads exports in Mexico and strengthens its industrial investment profile

The figures of Mexican exports at the end of the second quarter of 2022 place Chihuahua in the first position at the national level with 18 thousand 645 million dollars, followed by Coahuila and Nuevo León that reported 15,224 and 13,885 million dollars, respectively, according to information provided. by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).

With this figure, Chihuahua registered an increase of 23% compared to the same period in 2021, and which in turn represent 13.9% of total national exports.

Among the sectors that stand out for exports are the electrical, electronic and transportation manufacturing sectors. In this last sector, the entities of Coahuila, Guanajuato, Nuevo León, Puebla and Chihuahua concentrate 59% of the value of exports, of 46 thousand 352.9 million dollars, with a participation of 34.7% of the total.

Part of this impulse is correlated with the industrial real estate sector, mainly reflected in the growth of net and gross demand and construction.

According to Solili, the quarterly net demand of the Chihuahua market is in the order of 35,000 square meters, a figure that has remained constant in the second and third quarters of 2022. If we review the gross demand for 3Q 2022, it reflects an increase of 70%, while constructions maintain a maximum level of almost 51,000 square meters that advance to the end of October 2022.

The entity in the document "Economic, Innovative and Competitive Growth", which makes up the State Development Plan for the 2022-2027 administration, already proposed the development of a diverse state focused on creating more products with greater added value, which would generate an impact to incorporate more people into the local economy.

The recent investment announced by the British company Reckitt for 150 million pesos in its plant in Delicias and that it projects a figure that will reach 299 million pesos by 2023, are examples of the confidence generated by this northern industrial market

Likewise, as reported by the Secretariat for Innovation and Economic Development, the state of Chihuahua has attracted 52 new investment projects, thus generating 35,000 jobs for the next five years. The entity focuses its efforts on attracting investments from the sectors of: electromobility, aerospace, semiconductors, logistics, mining, bioeconomy and low carbon economy, mainly.

Alliances with the productive sector, academia, technical colleges, innovation centers and high technology centers have made it possible to strengthen the development of talent and attract investment in the entity.

Another important focus for industrial growth corresponds to investments in infrastructure, which continue to advance, such as the expansion of the Santa Teresa-San Jerónimo international crossing, which will boost the commercial and tourist flow in the region, at the same time that it will impact growth of its export.
