La Corona Soap Factory, at the end of July 2020, inaugurated a new distribution center or CEDIS, which is added to the 17 points it has nationwide.

This new logistics point is located in the State of Mexico and has an area of 3 hectares. An investment of 500 million pesos was estimated that will make it possible to separate export and self-service operations in the palletized mode.

This new center will allow the assembly of orders to be carried out more efficiently and to consolidate several trips simultaneously, thus doubling the storage capacity and tripling the dispatch capacity.

The implementation of this CDD in the State of Mexico will reduce the waste and mistreatment of products, thanks to the use of 32 thousand racks that work by gravity, which allows energy savings.

It is considered to operate 400 thousand tons of products annually, aimed at both the modern and traditional channels. Altogether, to meet this volume, it is estimated that 20 thousand transport units operate annually in the year.

Another impact will be the environmental one, by reducing energy consumption due to the use of the racks, but also due to the efficiency of palletized loads.

Through an agreement with CHEP, a pool of pallets will be available that, in addition to making the operation efficient, will favor sustainability, since it will generate savings of approximately 10 thousand cubic meters of wood, which is equivalent to approximately 10 thousand 500 trees that will stop being cut down.

This 100% Mexican company has a 101-year history and maintains a commercial presence in North America, the Caribbean, Central and South America.
