From January to August 2021, housing construction rose 12.7% compared to the figures obtained in 2020, Canadevi reported, during the Industry Leaders Meeting.

In this period, 109 thousand housing projects under development were registered with the Single Housing Registry.

"The industry has understood the need for people to acquire adequate housing where everyone can safeguard their assets, their person and their families," added the national president of the Chamber, Gonzalo Méndez Dávalos.

Méndez Dávalos assured that the housing industry acted correctly in coordination with government institutions such as Infonavit and Fovissste.

In addition, he mentioned that with this strategy, the beneficiaries will not lose their creditworthiness.

“It was understood that it was necessary to work to meet the demand in this sector that is a driver of the economy. It was achieved that last year it fell only 1.9% compared to the previous year, ”he added.

Finally, Canadevi highlighted that, in August 2021, the amount of mortgage loans granted by commercial banks is 9.4% higher than in August 2020.
