The BMW company laid the first stone of its battery module production center, which is located in its San Luis Potosí plant. This project has an investment of 800 million euros and contemplates expansions in areas of bodywork and assembly.

This center will have its construction completed in January 2026 and will begin operations in 2027, which will have a capacity of 30 battery modules per hour initially.

The plant obtains its electricity from renewable sources and in the new warehouse the surface area of its photovoltaic systems will be doubled to 14,000 square meters.

Due to this activity, the percentage of green energy generated on the site's land increases to more than 20%. Finally, the state authorities thanked BMW for trusting our country and especially in the state of San Luis Potosí, being a benchmark for growth in recent years in industrial trade.
