BIM foresees a 17% increase in loans for housing in the Northeast

The Mexican Real Estate Bank released its perspective for 2021 regarding the signing of housing loans. It calculates an increase of 17% for the northern region of the country, which will represent approximately one thousand 28 million pesos and a figure of 1,300 homes acquired.

BIM explained that this increase is due to the fact that the Northeast region made up of Nuevo León, Coahuila, Tamaulipas and Durango is considered one of the areas with the greatest economic and social strength and with an important activity in construction and housing issues.

The Mexican Real Estate Bank recognized that the importance of the region is largely due to the fact that Nuevo León generates 8% of the national GDP and in secondary activities, since it is where those related to construction are located and is the first place nationwide with 9.8%.

This influences the decision to invest by builders, who react to a greater need for real estate due to economic growth.

According to the real estate analysis platform Solili, in Mexico City the average sale price of residences is located at 7 million 808 thousand 429 pesos, a decrease of 1.7 percent when compared to the 8 million average registered towards December of 2020.
