BBVA achieves placement of mortgage loans at the level before the pandemic

BBVA managed in the first quarter of 2021 (1Q21) to return its mortgage loan placement to levels prior to the pandemic.

They highlighted that between January and March of the current year, the origination of new mortgage loans amounted to 12,100 million pesos (mp), compared to the 10,200 million pesos of the same quarter of the previous year, which meant a rebound of 18.6% an annual fee.

Likewise, they indicated that comparatively in 1Q19 they placed 11,301 million pesos of financing to individual housing, a level that was already exceeded in the first quarter of the current year.

As a result, on the side of the bank's most dynamic loan portfolios, housing financing and government loans stood out, showing annual growth of 7.9% and 13.9%, respectively, compared to the first quarter of 2020.

According to the real estate analysis platform Solili, in Mexico City the average sale price of residences is located at 7 million 808 thousand 429 pesos, a decrease of 1.7 percent when compared to the 8 million average registered towards December of 2020.
