The members of the Banco de México governing board warned that the Banxico Law, which will be discussed next week in the Chamber of Deputies, could constitute a risk for the financial markets.

They indicated that this reform could bring pressure to the peso and thereby unleash inflation.

Although they agreed that the role of the central bank should be analyzed, they considered that legislators should prioritize its proper functioning and autonomy.
