After more than 6 years of having laid the first stone in the capital of Potosí, the works of the ship to start up Plant 2 of the sensor technology manufacturing company have already been completed.
Richard Inman, senior director of Global Manufacturing at Banner Engineering, who was in charge of starting operations on Mexican soil, recalled that in order to choose the site of the plant they had to visit 5 cities and, now, seen from a distance, they have been able to verify that the decision taken was the correct one, since it has allowed them to meet the demand for growth.
The production floor, which started with 3,000 m2, now covers an area of 9,000 m2.
Fernando González, Operations Manager of the Banner plant, recalled that, although they started with two lines, there are currently 32, in which practically all the products in the firm's portfolio are produced.

In Plant 2, vertical integration will be generated, since cables, PCB cards, LEDs, brackets and other key components of the products that are assembled in San Luis Potosí and that were previously brought from abroad will be produced. plastic injection for the supply of wiring.
This export substitution model will streamline local production and open the door to suppliers on national soil, which includes the establishment of a new purchasing management in the same headquarters.

With this strategic move, Plant 1 will be dedicated solely to the assembly of the final product, leaving the door open so that the commercial area, directed in Mexico and throughout Latin America by Pedro Vidales, can respond to the growth in demand.
The growth of automation in industry is creating an almost unprecedented need for sensor products. In fact, Banner broke sales records in 2021 and they still expect double-digit growth for the next five years.
Banner Engineering is the only supplier of these security technologies that it produces in Mexico, which becomes a strategic advantage for this manufacturer established in Minnesota, United States.
