With an investment of six million dollars, construction began on the new industrial warehouse at Parque Las Américas, in Torreón, Coahuila.

Carlos Delgado López, owner of the industrial park, pointed out that the land where the project will be developed has 20 thousand square meters.

In addition, it was revealed during the laying of the first stone that 13,000 square meters will be used solely for the warehouse.

“This construction will take about nine months. It is not rented yet, but it will be offered to companies in the United States, with a capacity that could reach a thousand jobs,” he added.

Currently, the Las Américas industrial park, located on the road to Mieleras, already has 17 plants and is operating at full capacity. It also has a hundred percent occupancy.

For Delgado López, the region of La Laguna has favorable conditions for the arrival of national and foreign investments. However, the lack of existing industrial buildings is a limitation for the promotion of the city.

The businessman said that foreign companies hope to rent industrial buildings instead of building them, so the development of the region is urgent.

“There are land options within the urban area, which represent a great opportunity for any industry. There are already neighboring neighborhoods that could offer labor," he said.

As an example of this, he highlighted the case of the La Amistad neighborhood, where a ship worth 120 million pesos was recently built.

"However, these lands usually cost up to two thousand pesos per square meter, which raises the cost of construction for local investors," he considered.

Delgado revealed that in Torreón there is a lack of industrial plants and parks, which would be sources of employment for the young population.

“People are coming out of school well prepared. We have to leave them work, alternatives so that they stay in Torreón”, he concluded.
