
With an investment of 40 million dollars and the generation of 2,200 new jobs, next September the Aptiv manufacturing plant of Irish origin will begin operations in the suburban municipality of El Salto.
Aptiv is the first automotive company to settle in Jalisco, and it will produce low-voltage harnesses for electric cars that work by transmitting high-speed data and electricity, as announced by the governor, Enrique Alfaro.

"They are dedicated above all to developing what the operating system is, the central brain of the electrical components of automobiles," stressed Alfaro Ramírez, mentioning that most of the jobs that the company will open will be for women.
For his part, the president of Aptiv Latin America, Arturo Álvarez, shared that, by installing their operations in Jalisco, they reinforce their commitment to create and promote electric mobility in Mexico and stressed that this plant will position the state in the production of electric cars.
“This plant is definitely going to be world class. As we already mentioned, we are going to produce for customers who are also located here in the country and are electric vehicles, without a doubt it will be an important investment not only for the state, but also for Aptiv”, he indicated.

According to company projections, this plant is expected to produce an annual average of 10 million parts for the North American market, which will be assembled in at least 464,000 electric cars per year.
Currently, Aptiv generates more than 77,000 direct jobs in Mexico and more than 2,000 in affiliated companies such as HellermannTyton, Movimento, Winchester and Intercable Automotive. Together it has 40 manufacturing sites and three technical centers distributed in 14 states.
